QiDao was born on Polygon PoS as its first native stablecoin, it was only natural to deploy on zkEVM to become its first native stablecoin as well.
While the technical implementation of MAI has been live for months, the protocol core lending functions had to wait until every piece was in place and the right momentum at hand.
Aligned with Polygon Labs starting Stage 2 of zkEVM, QiDao is happy to announce its deployment of new MAI smart contracts adopting the permit2 standard and the activation of the core lending functions for selected collaterals.

The integration of the permit2 standard on QiDao contracts allow for users to do less transactions and spend less gas on their interactions with the Mai Finance dApp, reducing costs and saving valuable time.

Overview
Permit2 is a novel contract designed for shared, managed token approvals across various applications, with a focus on enhancing user experience and security. The introduction of the Universal Router combines ERC20 and NFT swaps in a single transaction, aiming to reduce gas fees.
Both Permit2 and Universal Router strive to improve user experience by lowering transaction costs, simplifying user interactions, and strengthening security. Permit2 includes features such as signature-based approvals, expiring approvals, batch approvals, and transfers, while Universal Router optimizes gas costs by unifying token and NFT trades, enabling multiple swaps in one transaction.
